How Can I Identify and Fix Leaks in My Pool?
A pool leak can quickly become a major headache, leading to higher water bills, water quality issues, and potential damage to your pool’s structure. Finding the source of the leak can be time-consuming and frustrating without the right guidance. We provide a clear, easy-to-follow checklist to help you identify the problem and take the right steps toward repair.
1. Check the backwash line (where water runs out on the ground when you backwash your filter) to see if there is standing water.
2. Check for any visible leaks at the equipment pad.
3. If these are dry, then go to the next step.
4. Fill the pool to the middle of the skimmer opening.
5. Mark the skimmer faceplate with a pencil or tape.
6. Run the pool 24hrs and then measure and write down how much it lost.
7. Refill to the original mark and leave the pool off for 24hrs and then measure and write down how much it lost.
